Being amidst the world’s most prolific hydrocarbon region, the oil industry has explored Oman’s challenging landscape and has emerged as the global/Industry leader, with the discovery of approximately over 200 Oil and Gas fields, the highest in the Gulf region. As the country’s reserves continue to get mature, advanced and enhanced oil recovery techniques are being developed and deployed by the industries.
Apart from oil, natural gas has also emerged in recent years as a driver of nascent industries. With focus shifting towards the exploration and production of non-associated shale gas, huge number of medium-sized companies are exploring to capitalize on Oman’s unconventional energy resources.
